Dear Desert Oasis Community,

Welcome to Desert Oasis Elementary School – home of the Tigers! My name is Cynthia Leon, and I am the proud principal and Treasure Hunter of this amazing learning community. We proudly serve students from preschool through 8th grade and believe that all children are capable of success—no exceptions!

At Desert Oasis, we are committed to nurturing thinkers, problem solvers, and effective communicators who are empowered to shape the future. Our path to academic excellence is grounded in a culture that values both academic achievement and social-emotional growth. Desert Oasis Elementary School

Ms. Cynthia Leon

Ms. Cynthia León is the proud principal of Desert Oasis Elementary School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. Joining Tolleson ESD in 2023, she brings effective leadership skills to support and lead our staff and teachers, along with experience in curriculum and program development, coaching, and community engagement. Ms. León is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Ms. Aleksandra West-Taylor

Ms. Aleksandra West-Taylor joined Desert Oasis as a teacher in 2015 as part of the iTeach Arizona Master Program. She also served as an instructional coach for three years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Grand Canyon University, a Master’s Degree from Arizona State University, and an Education Specialist Degree in Leadership & Principalship (EDS) from Arkansas State University.
